HM PROS and HM PROS Sling Frequently Asked Questions (non-air products)

Why is this product longer than most of the other competitors?

When we asked the clinicians what they wanted in a product, one of their biggest complaints was that the competitor matts were too small to support both the head and the heels when boosting and repositioning.  This reduces head and heel drag at the same time – no need to choose.

What happens if I forget to detach the link straps when I move the patient? Will the matt or sling rip?

The matt or sling shouldn’t rip but the link straps may begin to separate, and you will struggle to move the patient due to the straps being attached.

Why is the HoverCover™ holding patch small compared to the competition?

Clinicians wanted a more wipeable surface while still maintaining a secure area to keep the HoverCover in place.  This smaller patch holds the HoverCover in place where it’s needed most, while allowing cleanliness and infection control measures to be maintained.

Sometimes I struggle to boost my patient? Is there any easier way to do it?

First, place the bed in Trendelenburg position.  Find the most comfortable spot with the handles along the underside of the matt or sling for your comfort level.  Then in one motion, boost the patient to the desired position.

What if I need more of the HoverCovers?

You can order those in a case quantity additionally.  The part number is HMAC-100-CASE (50 ea).

How do I keep sling straps from getting caught or becoming a tripping hazard?

There are pieces of Velcro on the underside of the sling to attach the shoulder and the hip straps to so they do not hang down and will eliminate dragging.  The four corner sling straps all have Velcro hook and loop so they can be attached together.
